One
of the most important things I learned while
using my computer was to create up-to date
backups of the most important files and
data, and the system registry is one of the
most important ones.
Creating
backup data of your system registry is a
must the registry stores information like
system settings, passwords and other
important details you wont be able to
recover if something goes wrong and you don't
have a backup copy.
Within
two easy steps this short guide will show
you how you can create a backup copy of your
system registry should anything go wrong,
once completed you can then save your
important data onto CD or Disk for safe
keeping.
Step
One: Creating the backup.
Press
the start button
Select
Run
Type
in the command scanreg
/backup
Step
Two: That it? what did I do?!
Once
you invoked the back up command in step one,
the back up has been made, you can check
your back up in the file \Windows\Sysbackup
It will be a ".cab" file
with the date/time that you created the back
up.
You
can then copy this file to disk and keep it
safe.
