The
more things you have loading up when you
start your computer the slower the loading
times get, also the computer uses up more
memory this short guide will show you how to
get the small speaker icon out of the system
tray so Windows has one less thing to load
up.
The
purpose of the speaker icon is it allows you
to adjust the volume of the speakers, but
now we have our own speakers which do not
come included with the PC so we can manually
alter the volume ourselves.
Although
this small tweak wont make your computer
suddenly turn into a speed demon burning up
the track it will however free some small
amount of memory which will help things run
a lot smoother.
Step
One: Removing the speaker Icon.
Right
click the speaker icon located in your
system tray.
Select
Adjust Audio Properties.
Look
to the bottom of the properties box and you
will see Show volume control on the taskbar.
Remove the tick from the box to stop it
loading in the system tray.
This
shouldn't effect your sound in anyway, as
its just a controller for the sound if you
didn't have anyway to change your sound
yourself.
If
at anytime you wish for the little speaker
icon to return to the task bar when your
system loads follow the above instructions
but place a tick in the volume control menu,
where you removed it before.
